Chalcedony is a type of microcrystalline quartz with a waxy translucent luster. Agate, Jasper, Chrysoprase, and Onyx are all considered to be Chaldedony, but in the gem trade, only single solid translucent colors are considered as Chalcedony.
It is found in a variety of colors. the most common colors being shades of grey, brown and blue. the most prized color is the sky blue Chalcedony and the Green Chrysoprase.
